Watery Memories of Summer in Keene Valley
Floating (Bog River Daydream) (24 X30"). Thomas-Train Collection.
Headwaters (Ausable Lakes from Indian Head) (12 X 24"), sold
These two paintings emerged as meditations on two important women in my life: my aunt Bathsheeba and my sister Virginia. Both pieces are infused with the liquid qualities of mind, memory, and self.

It's great to see the work fly off the easel. You are bringing back the summer for me. Kate and I have stood up on Indian Head afer a long hot walk marveling at that long view. I can also feel my paddle in the water in Bog River above. It is remarkable to see one of the most painted/photographed views in the park infused with such personaland emotional meaning so we can experience it again in a new way.
